Busy Busy Busy
Hope you’ve been keeping up with the Web site since, as we mentioned, we can’t update our blog as often as we’d like. September was a busy month for us at Faces of Courage.
We just had our annual Women’s Cancer Retreat and it was a blast. Can’t wait to post pictures for all of you to see soon!
There was also the Shannon Walsh Revette annual ride; a bunch of bikers makin’ a lotta noise for a great cause.
And you know what they say: The fun never ends. The Applebee’s on North Dale Mabry in Tampa is donating 10% of customer bills to Faces of Courage when they show the Dining to Donate flyer. Click here to go to our Web site and print the flyer, then just go to the N. Dale Mabry Applebee’s on October 11, 2011 between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM and enjoy a filling–and fulfilling–meal!
Shine up the ol’ bowling ball because October 27 is the Tower Foundation’s bowling tournament fundraiser. There are VIP lanes, a grand prize for the champion, and all proceeds benefit Faces of Courage!
UPDATE: The Free Lightning tickets have already been claimed! We’re sorry if you missed them. Ready for this? Free Lightning Tickets. We scored 175 tickets to the Tampa Bay Lightning vs the Winnipeg Jets game on October 29. Click here for information on how to reserve yours, but act fast before they’re gone! Limit six per reservation/household.
Recently we unveiled the Bodies of Courage Web site. There you can read the empowering stories of real women with courage. You can also purchase the Bodies of Courage calendar and help support a great cause!
Dusting off the Blog!
Oh my, it’s been such a long time since we updated our poor lonely, blog. Since we are a small, dedicated army spending all of our time trying to put together events for our loyal campers, we just don’t have the time we’d like (or the amount of fingers, for that matter) to tell you all about it!
Our annual Women’s Cancer Retreat is coming up as well as a wine tasting to benefit Faces of Courage. Lisa Kennedy is running for mayor and chose us as her charity of choice! We’re so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives and to be able to spread our love and understanding unto others.
Please keep visiting our Web site (link at the top) as it is ALWAYS up to date with the most current information.
We hope you are enjoying your summer!
Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells!
Yep, Santa’s Workshop Weekend is right around the corner and we’re busy, busy, busy! Find out how you can be part of the fun by visiting our Web site.
We hope you had a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving and can’t wait to see you at Santa’s Workshop Weekend!
Taking Home a Piece of Courage
Congratulations to Gary Holman of Seminole, Florida, winner of Courage the motorcycle!

duPont Registry Features Faces of Courage!
We’re lucky ducks here at Faces of Courage. We get to do what we love for the people we love and make lives better. We’re also blessed that others love what we do and spread the word.
duPont Registry gave us some attention recently and you can read about it by clicking here and scrolling to page 44!
High Heels, Huge Hearts Photos!
Gorgeous models graced our High Heels, Huge Hearts event this August. We want to wish them all the luck in the world with their future careers. Thanks again to our wonderful photographers and the absolutely essential and amazing volunteers.
You can see more photos by clicking here.
You can visit the Web site of photographer Jim McDevitt by clicking here.
Photographer John Filiss also got some great shots. Visit his site by clicking here.
High Heels, Huge Hearts
We would like to thank Images Elite Body and Fitness magazine and Joe for hosting the High Heels, Huge Hearts event.
A special thank you to our friends at Bandeau-Design, Inc., makers of My Super Bra (designed and manufactured by Seka Kaytes), for discounting their bra line and donating $20.00 from each bra purchased to Faces of Courage.
The Venue provided an elegant location to display our Unveiling Breast Cancer Photo Gallery.
We could not have done this or any of our programs without our incredibly kind and dedicated volunteers who worked (both inside and out) this elegant event. Thank you all for your continued support. We could not continue to provide free camps for women and children touched by cancer without the support of wonderful people like you.
